Call for Papers

MET 2027 invites contributions of original research, reviews, case studies and industrial applications across four thematic tracks. Abstract submission is now open and runs until February 2027.

Invitation

Share your work with the global marine engineering community

The conference brings together researchers, engineers, classification societies, regulators and industry to address the decarbonisation and digital transformation of shipping. Every accepted contribution is peer reviewed and presented in a technical session alongside keynote addresses and panel discussions.

Contributions are welcome from academia and from industry alike. We particularly encourage submissions that report practical experience, operational data or regulatory experience, and submissions from postgraduate students and early-career researchers, for whom dedicated sessions are planned.

What you can submit

  • Original research papers
  • Review papers
  • Case studies
  • Industrial applications and operational experience

Abstracts are 200 to 300 words and are prepared on the MET 2027 abstract template. Download the template, fill it in and send it as a Word or PDF file. The full paper template and page limits are published for the authors of accepted abstracts. Full paper template TBC

Process

How submission will work

  1. Email your abstract

Choose one of the four thematic tracks and email your abstract to the conference secretariat. The secretariat replies with a submission reference, normally within five working days.

  2. Abstract review

The international scientific committee reviews every abstract and notifies authors of the outcome.

  3. Email the full paper

Authors of accepted abstracts prepare a full paper to the published template and email it to the same address by the deadline, quoting the submission reference.

  4. Peer review and final acceptance

Full papers are peer reviewed. Authors receive final acceptance together with the session programme.

  5. Register and present

At least one author registers for the conference and presents the work in the assigned technical session.

Abstracts are submitted by email. There is no submission platform and no account to create. Send one email to [email protected] with the following.

  • Subject line in the form MET 2027 abstract, Track 01, surname of the lead author
  • The completed abstract template as a Word or PDF attachment
  • The template asks for the title, all authors with their affiliations, the corresponding and presenting authors, the thematic track, and whether the lead author is a postgraduate student or an early-career researcher

The secretariat acknowledges every submission. If you have not had a reply within five working days, please email again.
